Description

The Medelast® Hydrocolloid blister plaster consists of a semi-permeable polyurethane film coated with hydrocolloid containing carboxy- methylcellulose (CMC) as the principal absorbent and gel forming agent. Hydrocolloid blister plaster is permeable to water vapor but impermeable to exudate and microorganisms. In the presence of exudate, the CMC absorbs liquid and swells to form a cohesive gel that does not tend to disintegrate or leave residues in the wound bed, and helps to maintain a moist environment for wound healing.
