Instructions for Use of The Medelast Hot/Cold Pack

The Medelast Hot/Cold Pack is specially designed for the comfortable and convenient application of mild, hot or cold to body. When used as a cold pack, it may reduce swelling or relieving pains of minor burns. When used as a hot pack, it may help relieve muscle or joint aching 

HOT / COLD PACK INFORMATION

Always use protective sleeve covering to avoid injury while using it. Never use it directly on skin. 

PREPARATION FOR COLD APPLICATION

Store pack in freezer so that it is always ready to use as a cold pack. Should be refrigerated for at least 2 hours, for external use only. Insert pack into a towel cover provided to protect application area from injury. Do not use pack on patient directly. Monitor patient / pack, remove if pain or discomfort is caused. Consult health care proffesional. 

PREPARATION FOR HEATED APPLICATION

ADULTS TO DO ONLY-KEEP CHILDREN AWAY 

HOT WATER METHOD

Bring water to the boil and turn off heat source, carefully immerse pack in water for short durations (USE A UTENSIL NOT YOUR BODY) till pack is hot enough. Remove the pack from water and dry it carefully. Insert pack into the towel cover provided to protect injury area from injury. External use only. 

MICROWAVE METHOD

If pack has been in freezer, thaw it in warm water first. Microwaves vary in power, so you need to find the correct heating time carefully. Before you begin, flaten the pack and ensure the gel is evenly distributed through out the pack. Expose pack in microwave on high for 50 seconds, carefully test temperature of pack If pack needs additional heating in microwave, heat for a further 10 seconds till acceptable temperature is achieved.
